New SLA Taxonomy website

Interested in Taxonomy or like me are trying to learn more about it, then is this the resource for you.  It’s a taxonomy FAQ created by the SLA taxonomy division. They also just launched a new website. I look forward to seeing more from this division.

NARA theft

First, you might have heard of the recent theft charges brought against a former NARA employee, Leslie Charles Waffen.  It’s a real shame when insiders are found to be committing these acts. That said I think it’s great that people are looking out for these historic document, recordings, and artifacts.

I attended a security workshop last year or so, done by the New York State archives. It was a great program, but it was created in part due the fact that there was a similar theft done there. Perhaps NARA will respond in a similar manner.
